Reflection 1

The topic that she discussed is about Work Immersion Program: Online Job Hunting and Do's and Don'ts in Crafting a Curriculum Vitae and Preparing for a Job Interview during our webinar. I enjoy how she explains CV and job interview preparation well, and I learned a lot from our webinar. This topic will be beneficial to us, particularly if we have completed our desired course and are looking for a job.

The first thing I learned in our webinar was the do's and don'ts of CV or resume. I learned that your CV should be easy to read and that you should use a readable font. When choosing a font, the most important factors to consider are design, space, professionalism, and readability. Your CV should tell a true story, it should include a chronological list of your work and educational history, and new grads should list their education in the first section. Also, create a LinkedIn profile to verify claims and show your ability to adapt to rapid changes. In your CV, emphasize your great teamwork abilities. Your CV should include a list of your achievements. You should include relevant work and internship experience, emphasize relevant skills, and highlight communications skills. Include an overview of your job history, including accomplishments rather than just tasks, as well as a brief description of companies that you worked for. Avoid including irrelevant hobbies and interests on your CV, and don't include too many soft talents. Avoid using general high-level claims like creative, great communicator, and hardworking. Half-truths, errors, and misleading statements are all examples of this, but they all amount to the same thing. These are the do’s and don’ts of CV or resume writing that I learned in our webinar.

The writing of your CV or resume should tell your story “who am I?” like tell a story about yourself who you are, what is your dream job or profession in your life and what's your personal profile, skills experience and what is your mindset as a student, as a daughter, and as a worker. I learn that having a good mindset consists of developing a habit of positive thinking, constantly looking for the silver lining, and making the best of every situation you find yourself in. If you have a good mindset, you can learn a lot. To attain your goals, you must learn from others and continue to learn. Also I learned about discovering your passion, where you good at, what is your purpose and what is your mission to life.

The final thing I learned in our webinar was how to prepare for a job interview. I learned that you should do your research about the industry or companies you want to work for before applying for a job. Prepare for typical interview questions and practice answering them to ensure that you are prepared for the job interview. Prepare for the job interview ahead of time and don't overdress. Get on the same page as the interviewer and deliver a honest response. You must also be a learner and show intellectual humility.

This topic that was presented in our webinar is beneficial to us. We can use it in our job interviews and in the future when writing our CVs or resumes. Our webinar was enjoyable and educational for me. She clearly presented the topic and offered advice on CV or resume writing as well as job interview preparation.
